Cabinet Type Blast Machine

A Shot Blasting Cabinet is a specialized enclosure designed for shot blasting the surfaces of various substrates. This cabinet includes multiple components that facilitate the shot blasting process, where steel shots are typically used as the blasting abrasive. The cabinet is exclusively suited for abrasives such as 30/60 mesh, steel grit, aluminum grit, and copper slag, among others.

The primary advantage of using a shot blasting cabinet is the enhanced safety it provides. The enclosed design minimizes the need for extensive personal protective equipment (PPE), as it protects the operator from exposure to micro-particles and abrasive debris. This containment ensures a safer and cleaner working environment while delivering effective surface treatment.

This system is ideal for quick cleaning, removing heavy rust and corrosion with coarse abrasives, and etching surfaces in preparation for thermal spraying. The blast pressure is adjustable from 30 to 90 psig, allowing for flexibility based on the application. A variety of coarse or medium abrasives can be used, including steel shots, stainless steel shot, cut wire shot, mild steel shot, copper slag, and aluminum oxide.

Types of Cabinet Type Blast Machine

SUCTION BLAST CABINET

The Suction Blast Cabinet is a versatile and efficient tool designed for surface preparation and cleaning applications. This cabinet operates on the principle of suction blasting, where abrasive media is drawn into the airstream by a vacuum created by an external suction unit. The Suction Blast Cabinet is ideal for workshops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance operations where efficient and controlled surface treatment is essential. It offers reliability, versatility, and ease of use for achieving high-quality finishes and preparing surfaces for coatings, adhesives, or further processing.

PRESSURE BLAST CABINET

The pressure blaster operates on the principle of direct pressure blasting, achieving high abrasive velocity that accelerates job cleaning. A pressure vessel located directly beneath the cabinet’s hopper features an automatic abrasive refilling system. Standard equipment includes a tubular fabric bag-type dust collector with a generous filter area, ensuring efficient dust collection. A manual shaker facilitates bag shaking for enhanced dust removal. This system is highly recommended for rapid cleaning and the removal of heavy rust and corrosion using coarse abrasives. It is particularly effective for etching surfaces required for rubber lining, FRP lining, and metal spraying applications. Castings and forgings are cleaned swiftly and thoroughly. Blast pressure is adjustable within the range of 30 to 90 psi, accommodating a wide variety of coarse and medium-sized abrasives based on specific application needs.

SUPER BLAST TYPE SUCTION BLAST CABINET

The super blaster operates on the principle of induction-suction for abrasive delivery, ensuring continuous operation without interruptions in the blasting cycle. It is highly recommended for light and medium-sized components requiring surface cleaning, deburring, or a fine matte finish. This system is particularly valuable in heat treatment shops, tool and die makers, mold makers, and for shot peening light metal components. Super Blast machines feature a reclaimer system that guarantees uniform cleaning and finishing in each operation. This automatic system cleans and separates abrasives within the reclaimer, ensuring only clean and properly sized abrasives reach the blast gun for consistent surface treatment. Dust and debris are effectively removed, contributing to a homogeneous finishing process. Unlike many other cabinets, the inclusion of a reclaimer as standard practice enhances efficiency and quality in abrasive blasting operations.

WET BLAST CABINET

The wet blasting system operates on the principle of induction-suction blasting, utilizing very fine abrasives as small as 5 microns. Fine abrasives are suspended in a liquid, typically water, and pumped to a nozzle as a slurry. At the nozzle, the slurry combines with compressed air and is propelled against the workpiece. A glandless slurry pump is employed to feed the slurry at positive pressure into the blast gun. Components of the pump that come into contact with the slurry are made from thermoset plastic materials to resist corrosion. Wet blasting machines are particularly beneficial in tool rooms for tasks such as removing feather burrs from multi-tooth cutting tools like milling cutters, broaches, and taps. They excel at deburring intersecting holes in precision parts that are inaccessible by other methods, thus eliminating the need for extensive hand honing. Moreover, wet blasting can achieve super-finished surfaces without damaging sharp edges or compromising exact tolerances, making it suitable for achieving high-quality finishes on finely machined surfaces.
